We're proud to share that Waddle has been shortlisted across four categories at this year's Legal & General Business Quality Awards.
It's always nice to receive recognition, but what makes these nominations meaningful is what they represent. Behind every category is a shared commitment to doing the right thing for clients, improving standards, and continually looking for ways to deliver a better experience.
The categories we've been shortlisted for are:
🧡 Customer Excellence
🧡 Consumer Duty
🧡 Outstanding Customer Outcome
🧡 Hero in the Middle (Naomi Jeffs)
Each nomination reflects a different part of our business, but they all come back to the same thing - helping clients make informed decisions and supporting them when they need us most.
Customer Excellence is what every protection customer should experience.
Not as something exceptional, but as the standard.
It’s about firms that take the time to understand a client properly before making recommendations. Firms that prioritise clarity and honesty over speed or volume. Firms that recognise the responsibility that comes with giving advice that people are going to rely on when life doesn’t go to plan.
It’s also about what happens after the policy is in place - staying close to clients when circumstances change, helping them review their options when needed, and making sure support doesn’t disappear the moment the paperwork is complete.
CYD (Confirm Your Details) is part of that wider industry standard, ensuring clients are clear and confident in what they’ve put in place from the outset.
This nomination reflects the firms across the industry who uphold that standard every day - advisers, support teams and claims specialists working to make sure clients are properly looked after from start to finish.
It is a true privilege to be shortlisted alongside them.
Consumer Duty has raised expectations across financial services, placing a greater focus on clarity, fairness and delivering good outcomes for customers.
Those principles are not new to good advice. They sit at the heart of what it means to do the job properly.
Clients should understand the recommendations they receive. They should feel informed throughout the process. And they should feel confident that the advice they act on is appropriate for their circumstances and goals.
That is what good firms have always aimed for.
Being recognised in this category reflects the standards we strive to uphold every day - not because of regulation alone, but because it is the right way to look after people.
As the industry continues to evolve, Consumer Duty remains a useful reminder that good outcomes come from intention, clarity and consistency.
This category speaks to the real purpose of protection advice.
Not the policy itself, but what it enables when life takes an unexpected turn.
It is about whether the recommendation made at the start actually delivers when it matters most. Whether a family receives the support they were told to expect. Whether a client facing serious illness, loss or financial difficulty is properly supported throughout the process.
Earlier this year we published our first annual claims report, sharing real outcomes and experiences from across our claims journey. Reviewing those cases reinforced something simple - the value of protection is only ever fully understood at the point of need.
This nomination reflects the importance of getting those early conversations right.
We are also delighted to see Naomi Jeffs shortlisted in the Hero in the Middle category.
Naomi leads our claims function - the part of the business that sits between clients and insurers at the most difficult point in the journey.
It is a role that requires persistence, judgement and a steady focus on doing what is right for the client. Chasing updates, removing friction, managing expectations and making sure nothing gets lost in translation when it matters most.
Naomi brings all of that and more to her work every day.
This nomination is a reflection of her commitment, and of the difference strong claims support can make when clients need it most.
We're grateful to have been recognised across four categories at this year's awards.
☂️ - We would like to thank the team at Legal & General for the support, guidance and partnership they have provided over the years. Their commitment to improving standards across the industry continues to encourage firms like ours to learn, develop and strive for better outcomes for clients.
🏆 - We're also looking forward to celebrating alongside the other finalists on the night. There are some exceptional businesses and individuals shortlisted, all working hard to make a positive difference for the people they serve. It is a privilege to be considered alongside them.
The awards take place on 1st July at the ICC Birmingham.
🐧 - Whatever the outcome, we are proud of what this recognition represents - and even prouder of the people across Waddle who make it possible every day.
If you’re self-employed, work with your hands, or just aren’t sure what cover you’ve really got in place - don’t go it alone.
Stand with a team that’s built to protect, support, and shield you from the storm - whatever life throws your way.
Because life doesn’t always go to plan, but your protection absolutely should.

Graham came to us for a second opinion on his protection. We uncovered a 17-year-old policy with unbeatable cover - one worth holding onto. Two years later, after a stroke, that legacy policy paid out £75,000 when he needed it most. The right advice. At the right time. For all the right reasons.
We’ve got you.
Whether it’s a bump in the road or a full-blown storm, you’re not on your own. Making a claim with Waddle is simple, human, and hassle-free - because the last thing you need right now is paperwork stress or policy puzzles.
We just show up, sort it, and stand by you - like we said we would.

Already have protection in place? We believe your cover should grow with you. Our friendly Policy Check reviews what you have, highlights strengths and gaps, and gives honest, expert advice to keep your cover working its best for you.
